About

Rhyme & Reason approached Studio Twwo at our Leeds studio in Headingley to revamp their brand.

Rhyme & Reason are a Leeds based collective who write blog articles and record podcasts about Hip-Hop music and the surrounding culture, they describe themselves succinctly, as:

Lovers of beats, rhymes and positivity. Based in Leeds. Looking at the world.

The team consists of: Editor – Vicky Thirlway, Promoter – Tony Green, Web Designer/Label Owner – Omid Mahmoudi & Writer: Rohan Parmar. Studio Twwo were drafted in the revamp the visuals through our work with the Elements Collective, another Leeds Hip-Hop collective.

The new logo draws inspiration from the hip-hop genre, its roots in culture, the everyday struggle and also visualising the two elements of the name i.e. the mic represents ‘Rhyme’ & the closed fist represents ‘Reason’. The colours are raw and primal, which combined with the symbology and bold lettering to create a simple and striking logo – with potential to extend the brand across other platforms as the collective develops.

Rhyme & Reason: Up North. On Point.
